Introducing Cardinal Feasts — a new series of changing menus on Sundays throughout the year.
For our next Cardinal Feast, we will be taking our diners on a journey to the coastlines of the Algarve whilst in the comfort of our Cannonmills dining room.
As well as a shared timezone (and an appreciation for travelling by tram), Edinburgh has a number of culinary parallels with Portugal. A love of all things pastry, a proximity to coastlines rich with seafood and a penchant for great drinks - be it white port or Edinburgh gin.
On Sunday the 15th of June, we’ll be fusing traditional Portuguese dishes with Scottish produce. Highlights include Salt Cod fritters with lemon garlic aioli, fire-roasted Piri-piri chicken and pastel de natas. Edinburgh-based wine merchant, Fìon, will be selecting a handful of diverse Portuguese wines to accompany our menu - rounding off with a 10 year old tawny port with our dessert.
